The 'Guardians of the Galaxy' movie will be released to the public some two weeks for now – on the 1st of August to be more precise.

The 'Guardians of the Galaxy' game for iOS and Android has already been released to the public. So why not play the game while you wait for the movie to hit a theatre near you?

I am quite eager to see ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, a movie that will be released in the US on August 1st, 2014. Why am I so excited? Why, just take a look at the movie’s trailer and see for yourself!

If, like myself, you’re a fan of Marvel's comic-inspired movies, then you’re going to like what comes next: Marvel just rolled out a mobile game based on the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ movie.

'Guardians of the Galaxy: The Universal Weapon' is now available for download on Apple’s App Store and on Google’s Play Store (the game is priced at $4.99).

The goal in the game is to recover the five pieces of The Universal Weapon before it falls into the hands of the villainous Ronan the Accuser. To achieve this goal you must command the Guardians and their allies in gesture-based real-time battles.

The game features a Story Mode and an Arena Mode. More than 60 levels of real-time, gesture-based combat are available for Story Mode. Play this mode and you get to progress through the story and defeat villains like Korath, Nebula, and Ronan.

When you’re done battling it out in Story Mode, take your team of Guardians and see for how long you can survive in the Arena. In Arena Mode, you've guessed it, you must fight against countless waves of foes.

It must be mentioned here that 25 characters from the Guardians of the Galaxy universe can be unlocked and upgraded. You can recruit heroes, level them up, and equip them with unique items.

Unlike Avengers Alliance and Run Jump Smash, this Marvel game does not need an internet connection. You don't have to stay connected to the internet to be able to play the game.
