Boldly go where no fan has been before! Show your philanthropic side and you could be the first fan in the franchise’s history to win a walk-on role and star in a Star Trek movie.

That's the upcoming Star Trek Beyond, movie that is scheduled to be released on July 8, 2016, in the US.

Donate to charity and you could win a walk-on role in Star Trek Beyond – that is the premise of a new contest held in partnership with Omaze. The walk-on role is the grand prize, mind you. There are a few other prizes that deserve to be mentioned.

Be In Star Trek Contest – Prizes
  • Grand Prize – a walk-on role in the upcoming Star Trek Beyond movie. The plot of the movie is unknown at this time, so maybe you’ll get a sneak peak.
  • To Boldly Go Crew – six additional winners will be selected each week. The winners will form the To Boldly Go Crew, a first-ever honorary crew that will get to visit the Star Trek Beyond set, watch the movie as it's being filmed, and hang with the movie’s cast.
  • Choose your Reward Level – a $10 donation is worth 100 entries and that's enough for a Digital Campaing Badge. One thousand entries get you an exclusive To Boldly Go T-shirt. Fifty thousand entries get you an autographed Red Shirt. And 1 million entries get you a replica Captain’s Chair.

How can you win any of the cool prizes mentioned above? That’s simple: go to Omaze – click here or here – and make a donation. You’ll have to make a minimum donation of $10 to enter the contest. Donations are accepted through September 1st, 2015 at 11:59pm PST. The money raised from all the donations will be split evenly among 9 causes, causes nominated by the Star Trek cast members.

Zachary Quinto, who plays Spock in the movie, nominated Direct Relief, a leading medical relief organization whose stated mission is to "improve the health and lives of people affected by poverty or emergency situations by mobilizing and providing essential medical resources needed for their care."
