You may not have been able to go to the Moscone Center in San Francisco where the Macworld 2009 expo is currently being held, but this does not mean you cannot see the keynote speech for yourself. Apple has been kind enough to post it online for people all over the world to watch. Note that this year’s keynote speech was held by Phil Schiller, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Product Marketing, not by Steve Jobs.

The reason why CEO Steve Jobs is not attending the Macworld 2009 expo is because he wants to spend more time with his family. His health is also a major contributor; it seems that Steve Jobs has a hormone imbalance that is causing him to lose weight, not his position in the company (he will not step down as Apple’s CEO).

In case you did not already know it, this year’s Macworld Expo will be the last one that Apple attends. That’s right, the company that makes the expo, that draws in the crowds, will no longer attend. It is a pity then that things did not go too well at this final keynote speech – the fact that Steve Jobs did not attend and the fact that no new products were presented made it a real letdown.

This is not to say that Phil Schiller’s keynote speech was not influential – it had a major influence on Apple stock. The stock went down 0.7%, which is a shame because they had just recently gone up 10% after news broke out that Steve Jobs is not dying, his tired looks are caused by a hormone imbalance (as mentioned above).

On a lighter note (or not) it seems that some pranksters have managed to hack a MacRumors owned separate domain, web page that live covered the 2009 Macworld Expo, and announce that “ Steve Jobs just died ”. The site hosting this info is currently down (MacRumoursLive.com), but it is yet unclear whether it was taken down voluntarily in order to prevent this information from reaching the main stream or whether the hackers crashed it. It is also yet unclear who initiated this attack.

UPDATE: MacRumors has posted an posted an apology on the matter and said it will continue its coverage of the Macworld 2009 Expo.
