Entertainment company MGM Mirage has recently announced that it launched not one, not two, not three, but 5 iPhone apps. These newly released apps offer the iPhone user (and not only) new ways to explore Las Vegas and its attractions. The apps in question are Vegas Reality, Entertainment of Las Vegas, and 3 resort apps – Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand, New York-New York.

Vegas Reality is an augmented reality application that offers a wealth of information about resorts and casinos in Las Vegas. The app works in a simple enough manner: simply point the iPhone at a resort for example and the app will tell you a bit more about that resort. It will tell you about its nightclubs, restaurants, shows, and so on – and it lets you buy tickets for a show for example. Furthermore it allows you take a virtual tour of the resort.

The Vegas Reality app is compatible with the iPhone 3GS and is available for download here.

Entertainment of Las Vegas provides video previews, show times, event calendars, directions and ticket purchasing for numerous events at Bellagio, ARIA Resort & Casino, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, Monte Carlo, New York-New York, Excalibur, Circus Circus, Luxor and The Mirage. The app comes with custom GPS maps of The Strip and will offer directions to wherever you want to go. Last but not least, the app allows you to comment on your trip to Vegas and rate featured services.

The Entertainment of Las Vegas app is compatible with the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. You can download it here.

The last 3 apps are resort apps that focus on a separate resort: Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand, New York-New York. Via these apps you can access photos, videos and other useful information about the resort. The apps are compatible with the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.

The Mandalay Bay app is available for download here.

“MGM Mirage’s strategy behind the launch of apps for iPhone and iPad is to extend our reach to customers and leverage newer technologies to make their interaction with us easier,” said Vice President of Brand Strategy and Advertising with MGM Mirage, Scott Voeller. “One of the driving forces for going ahead and developing these platforms is the fact that people have smartphones and are using them and want the benefits mobile can provide.”
