The Linux Foundation announced that top mobile and enterprise execs will speak at the LinuxCon 2011, event which will take place between the 17th and 19th of August in Vancouver, and at the LinuxCon Gala, the event held on the first day of LinuxCon, event that formally marks Linux’s 20th anniversary.

In honor of the 20th anniversary of Linux, the LinuxCon Gala will feature a 'Roaring 20s theme'. The event will feature a live band, open bar, casino games, and full dinner. The Linux Foundation will rent tuxedos (penguin suits) and flapper dresses onsite to those interested.

And now without any further ado, the keynote speakers of the LinuxCon Gala are:

Jim Whitehurst, Red Hat CEO – will talk about 20 years of enterprise Linux and what to expect from the next 20 years.
Phil McKinney, HP Chief Technology Officer – will talk about WebOs, the Linux-based mobile operating system.
Mark Charlebois, Director of Open Source Strategy at Qualcomm Innovation Center (QuIC) – will talk about the role Linux had on mobile development and innovation.
Marten Mickos, Chief Executive Officer at Eucalyptus Systems and former CEO of MySQL – will talk about the Linux and cloud computing.
Allison Randal, Ubuntu’s Technical Architect – will talk about how the Ubuntu community and the development team behind the OS are making the Linux vision a reality.
Clay Shirky, award-winning author and technology expert – will talk about how collaboration is impacting today’s culture.

In related news, the winner of the video contest we reported upon yesterday will be announced at LinuxCon 2011. The Linux Foundation has launched a video contest and is inviting all Linux fans to submit a 1-minute long video that demonstrates the impact Linux had on computing, business and/or culture over the past 20 years. Out of the community’s favorite videos, Linus Torvalds himself will choose the winner. Additional information on this contest is available here; guidelines and rules available here.

“The story of Linux has many chapters and there are literally no limits on how the operating system will innovate in the future. We’re looking forward to seeing how people choose to illustrate the impact Linux is having on computing and our society,” said Amanda McPherson, vice president of marketing and developer programs at The Linux Foundation. “This year’s winning video will help mark the 20th anniversary of Linux and the creator of the video will be especially honored as the winner chosen by none other than Linus.”

More information on how the Linux Foundation is celebrating the 20th anniversary of Linux is available here.
