Feedly for Android version 17 has just been rolled out to the public. On the “What’s New” list you will find and entry that says “faster and more fluid experience.” Since that is a bit vague, the Feedly team made things a bit clearer: this latest version has 300% faster start time to offer.

Android users can get Feedly version 17 right now from the Play Store.
The iOS version will be submitted to Apple this Friday (October 18th). After Apple reviews it, it will be available in the App Store.

Getting back to Feedly for Android v. 17, it must be added that this latest release comes with a few other new features. Here’s a list, just to keep things nice and short:
  • There’s a new Android widget.
  • There’s a new Discover section.
  • The scrolling experience is more fluid.
  • Better fonts and visual design.
  • Feed search has been enhanced.
  • Auto-refresh would kick in when the app restarted; this issue has been fixed.
  • New Facebook SDK integration.
  • Support for the new Samsung Gear smart watch has been added.

Samsung Gear is the smart companion for the new Samsung Galaxy Note 3. It is a wearable device that combines smart device connectivity, tailored technological features, and stylish design. You can find out more about the Galaxy Gear here, about the Galaxy Note 3 here, and you can check out a video that presents their key features here.

Getting back to Feedly, I remind that you the development team behind the feed reader recently rolled out a new feature for Feedly Pro: Custom Sharing. The new feature can be used to send articles to Pinboard, publish articles via HootSuite, send articles to RTM (Remember The Milk), create a Google Bookmark, create an event in Google Calendar, shorten the article URL with bit.ly, open the article with Google Translate, or blog to WordPress.
