Earlier this month Mozilla updated the stable version of its Firefox web browser to v. 6.0. If you did not receive the automatic upgrade prompt, you can manually trigger the update by clicking Help -> About Firefox -> Check for Updates. But the news is not that version 6.0 of the Firefox browser is out there.

The news is that Piriform, the privately owned UK software developer dedicated to creating top quality applications for Windows and Mac, has updated its CCleaner application – the latest version is CCleaner 3.10. And this latest version comes with support for Firefox 6.0. It also comes with support for Firefox 7.0 Beta and for IE 9.0.2.

Here are the release notes Piriform provided, so you can see precisely what new changes CCleaner 3.10 brings to the table:
- Added Firefox 7.0 Beta support.
- Added Firefox 6.0 Final support.
- Added IE 9.0.2 support.
- Added Safari 5.1 binarycookies file cleaning and management.
- Added cleaning for MS Search, Cached Fonts, RegEditX, SpeedBit DAP, Spyware Terminator, SUPERAntiSpyware, Acrobat Distiller 10 and Foxit Reader 5.0.
- Improved cleaning for Internet Download Accelerator.
- Improved Opera 9 Last Download Location cleaning.
- Improved accuracy and reliability for free space and entire drive wiping.
- Improved Safari local storage cleaning.
- Improved Google Chrome "Saved Form Information" and "Saved Passwords" cleaning.
- Updated various translations.
- Minor optimization tweaks.

If you’re not currently using CCleaner, I advise you to give the application a shot. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. This is a properly good junk remover that can remove the files that are needlessly taking up space on your computer, can wipe your hard drive, can fix Registry problems, and can do a few other things. It’s easy to use and best of all, it’s free.

The Windows version, the abovementioned CCleaner 3.10 is available for download here. There’s a Mac version as well, but it’s still in Beta at the time of writing this. You can get CCleaner for Mac 1.0 Beta 3 here. Do not get the application unless you understand the risks of using Beta products. They can be buggy, they may not work properly, they may ruin your day. Beta releases are meant for advanced users only.
