Kaspersky Lab, company that offers award-winning antivirus and mobile security software for home and corporate users, was glad to announce that Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 (KIS 2011), the security software solution released this summer, has received AV-Test certification. Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 has been put to the test by independent German research center AV-Test and managed to pass all the tests with flying colors.

During the months of July, August and September (that’s Q3 of 2010) AV-Test put a total of 19 security software solutions to the test – KIS 2011 was among the 19; see who the others were by clicking here. AV-Test’s aim was to evaluate their level of security, quality of system restoration following infection, and user friendliness. The 19 security software solutions were loaded onto a 32-bit Windows XP SP3-powered computer. All the settings were left on default.

“Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 successfully passed all the tests and received AV-Test certification in recognition of its performance. In the protection quality test, it was one of only two products to achieve the best score of 5.5 points out of a possible six,” said Kaspersky in a press release.

People keeping track of such things will remember that Anti-Malware Test Lab gave Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 a Platinum Self-Protection Award, Anti-Malware Test Lab's highest accolade. Anti-Malware Test Lab put a grand total of 20 security software solutions to the test – the most popular antivirus products out there. Kaspersky’s successfully protected the Windows XP SP3 and Windows 7 operating systems it was installed on, passing all of Anti-Malware Test Lab’s and scoring 100 out of 100 points.
