Gone are the days when Netflix was available in the US alone. At CES 2016 in Las Vegas, Netflix announced that it went global, expanding into more than 130 new territories. With this major international expansion, the streaming service is now available in more than 190 countries.

“Today you are witnessing the birth of a new global Internet TV network,” said Reed Hastings, Netflix Co-founder and Chief Executive, at CES 2016. “With this launch, consumers around the world -- from Singapore to St. Petersburg, from San Francisco to Sao Paulo -- will be able to enjoy TV shows and movies simultaneously -- no more waiting. With the help of the Internet, we are putting power in consumers’ hands to watch whenever, wherever and on whatever device.”

Here's a map of the world. The red indicates the countries where Netflix is available.

The gray indicates where Netflix is not available: China, North Korea, Crimea and Syria.

For now, Netflix is still considering its options to bring the streaming service to China. As far as North Korea, Crimea and Syria are concerned, Netflix won't come to these regions due to U.S. government restrictions on American companies. Netflix is an American company and these regions are subject to U.S. sanctions.
