Remember the Inbox by Gmail app that Google introduced way back in the fall of 2014? Until now, you had to get an invite to use it. Not anymore!

Google just announced that it’s done with the invites and the app is now open to all.

“As of today, Inbox is open to everyone—no invitation required. All your Gmail messages are ready and waiting. So if you haven't tried Inbox yet, download the app today, and start getting back to what matters,” said Director of Product Management Alex Gawley.

Inbox by Gmail – Main Features
  • Bundles – similar messages are bundled together. Purchase receipts are bundled with other purchase receipts, bank statements with other bank statements, promos with other promos, and so on.
  • Trip bundles – emails about a trip are bundled together and all the important details about it are available the instant you open Inbox.
  • Create your own bundles – you have the option to create your own bundles.
  • Highlights – Inbox highlights the important parts so you don’t have to open messages to know what they’re about. Inbox will also display useful info that isn’t in the email. If the email is about a trip for example, Inbox can display useful info like the real-time status of your flight.
  • Reminders – create custom to-dos and Inbox will make sure you remember to do them. The reminders you create appear in Inbox. If someone emails you a to-do, the app will suggest adding a reminder.
  • Assists – If you created a reminder about calling a store for example, Assists will get the store’s phone number and will tell you if the store is open.
  • Snooze – you can snooze messages and reminders. Snooze until later today, snooze until tomorrow, snooze until next week, and more.
  • Undo send – take back an email right after sending it. This comes in handy if you have second thoughts and don’t want to send the email anymore.
  • Swipe to delete – make Delete the default swipe action and you can delete messages with a simple swipe gesture.
  • Custom signature – personalize your messages by adding a custom signature.
  • Powered by Gmail – since Inbox runs on Gmail, all your stuff from Gmail is ready to be used with Inbox.
