Introducing Facebook for iPad

Until now you could only use the Facebook app on your iPhone. Not anymore! All the requests for an iPad version of the app have been answered. As of this week, you can also use the Facebook app on your iPad. You can enjoy high resolution photos, games, chat and all the social networking capabilities the app has to offer on your iPad.

Facebook software engineer Leon Dubinsky announced the release of Facebook for iPad yesterday, the 10th of October. He explained that the app offers the “full Facebook experience, right at your fingertips” and that it is “a fun way to keep up with friends, share photos, chat and more.”


If you would like to get the Facebook for iPad app, you can grab it straight from the App Store here . The app is offered free of charge of course. Before you go get the app, perhaps you would like to know what it has to offer. Here’s a quick look at the functionality you can expect to get from Facebook for iPad:

- Share photos, update your status, and send messages, all without leaving your News Feed.
- The optimized interface makes it easier to zoom in on your friends' photos, updates and stories.
- Flip through high resolution photos just like you would with a real photo album.
- Just tap, slide or pinch to move from one screen to another.
- Easily access your favorite Facebook apps and games.

Getting back to Facebook for iPhone, Leon Dubinsky explained that this version has been updated and enhanced. “We've also made several improvements to the iPhone app and With your next update, you'll see a simplified navigation, faster search and access to more games and apps,” he said.
