Before you go get Intego Washing Machine, perhaps you would like to learn more about it – I am assuming here that you’ve never or vaguely heard about the application in the past. What Intego Washing Machine does is it cleans up the tracks you leave behind when using your Mac; it helps remove files that pose a privacy risk or needlessly take up disk space. These files can be removed manually by the user or automatically by the application. Washing Machine can remove these files in a secure manner so that no data recovery tool can bring them back to life.

Here’s a more detailed list of what Intego Washing Machine can do:
- Removes temporary internet files, cleans the cache, removes download and browsing history, can remove bookmarks.
- Remove or edit cookies.
- Securely delete files so that they cannot be brought back with a data recovery tool.
- Automatically clean files or manually clean files. Schedule cleaning tasks to be performed automatically; use Cleanlists and Smart cleanlists to organize which items are to be cleaned.
- Provides support for numerous utilities and internet programs.
