InstallerApp: Install Jailbroken Apps without Jailbreaking the iPhone
With Apple recently showcasing the iPhone OS 3.0 features at it s headquarters in Cupertino, many iPhone users felt the urge to get the Beta version of the operating system. The iPhone Dev Team responded and said that if you want to keep using YellowSn0w you should refrain from doing so, but with InstallerApp you can do away with jailbreaking altogether.
InstallerApp has been developed by Ripdev to natively run on Apple’s Mac OS X and perform one simple task: allow you to install jailbroken apps onto your iPhone. The whole process is rather straightforward: download apps from Installer and Cydia onto you Mac, connect your iPhone to the Mac via the USB cable, and install the app. There is no need to connect to the internet via WiFi, Edge or 3G.
“InstallerApp comes with free built-in Pusher — software that can install Installer.app on your iPhone without “jailbreaking” it, so you can use App Store and Installer simultaneously without putting your private data at risk. By default Pusher will not install a set of command-line utilities and unlock the system partition as it’s usually is done by some popular jailbreak solutions and may lead to additional instability of the iPhone software, but it will do so if that is what you want. Just add your favorite repository in the Preferences window and application will automatically recognize its type and will show the packages from that repository, so you’ll be able to download packages to your computer and install them to a USB-connected iPhone,” explains RipDev.
You would expect InstallerApp to come free-of-charge, but it doesn’t. It is commercial software and as such you will have to part with your hard earned cash in order to get it. The price for getting a license is of $7; for that amount of money you get: install software on up to 3 different iPhones, free updates, email tech support. You can of course get the trial version of InstallerApp, but you will not be able to perform package installation on the device.
Additional details, including a download location for InstallerApp available here.
