Imgur just celebrated its 6th anniversary and to mark this joyous occasion, the guys behind the online image hosting service decided to give every user access to Imgur Pro features. Imgur Pro is being phased out and the features that were once available only to Imgur Pro subscribers are now available to everyone, for free.

“On Imgur’s first birthday, we announced Imgur Pro, a paid account that gave users the ability to support their favorite image sharer while getting some cool extra features in return,” said the Imgur team. “Today, we celebrate Imgur’s sixth year, and we’ve decided that you’re the one who deserves a gift. We’re phasing out Pro subscriptions…and making the Pro features completely free for every Imgur user!”

If you’re not familiar with Imgur Pro, here’s a quick look at the extra features it has to offer:
  • Unlimited storage – there are no storage limitations. You can store as many images as you want in your Imgur account.
  • Thumbnail options – multiple thumbnail options are available for all uploads.
  • Imgur analytics – you have full access to image analytics and referrer data.
  • Uploaded images management – manage, edit, delete uploaded images; do so with any uploaded image, whenever you want.
  • Imgur community – you can interact with the community by commenting, voting and sharing.
It’s great that every Imgur user has access to these Pro features. But what if you’re a Pro user already? In that case, here’s what you need to know. Your account will remain ad-free until your subscription period is over; after that, you will have to put up with “one small display ad per page”. If you upgraded to Imgur Pro in the last 30 days, your payment will be automatically refunded via PayPal or Google Wallet.
