Rovio Entertainment is giving you the chance to help promote literacy! All you have to do is purchase a Good Deeds coin when you log into Angry Birds Epic. For every good deeds bundle purchased, Rovio will make a donation to Room to Read, a global organization that promotes literacy and gender equality.

The price of a coin is $3.99.
Rovio will give a minimum of $1.40 to Room to Read for every purchased good deeds bundle.
This is a time-limited campaign; it ends on the 28th of September, 2014.

Do you know that more than 774 million people around the world cannot read? Did you know that there are millions of children who could not read this article if you showed it to them?

Room to Read aims to change the lives of all these children who cannot read. So far, the organization brought quality education to more than 8 million children. But the work’s not done – as a matter of fact, Room to Read wants to do more and work faster.

Rovio Entertainment interviewed Room to Read about the organization’s campaign. Here’s what Room to Read had to say:

''Destination Literacy was launched earlier this year with the goal of reaching Room to Read’s 10 millionth child by the end of 2015. We are inviting all those that want to change the world but are daunted by the massive challenges it faces to take a simple action—support education because EDUCATION CHANGES EVERYTHING. We know that education is one of the few things we can do that helps change the world in nearly every sector: Hunger & Nutrition, Healthcare, Gender Equality, Violence Prevention, Economic Development, and the Environmental Protection. Yet 250 million children are unable to read a single sentence. And when a child reaches the third grade without basic literacy skills, it becomes virtually impossible for him or her to catch up. That’s why supporting education can’t wait!''
