You can now use hashtags on Twitter, Google+, and Facebook. To celebrate this fact, AVAST Software is running a weekend challenge and it’s giving you the chance to win a 1-year avast! Premier license.

Twitter was the first to embrace the hashtag and now we can’t imagine using the microblogging service without using hashtags. Other services – Instagram, Google+, and Tumbr – soon followed in Twitter’s footsteps and adopted the hashtag. Last to the party was popular social networking site Facebook who just recently enabled the hashtag (read more about this topic here).

Security company AVAST Software is glad that Twitter, Google+, and Facebook all supports hashtags now. And to show just how glad it is, the company’s Social Media team is running a weekend challenge that goes something like this: recommend avast! Free Antivirus using the #useAVAST hashtag and you could win a 1-year avast! Premier license. This is a powerful security solution that comes with advanced privacy tools, full remote access, and a software update manager, to keep your most important programs updated.

Two categories will be awarded by AVAST: the most creative/funny recommendation and the most convincing recommendation. You can enter the challenge by using the Google+, Twitter, or Facebook social networks. The aforementioned Social Media team will select a recommendation in each category from each social network and award them with a license for avast! Premier. On top of that, the team will award the most liked, most re-tweeted, and most +1ed messages.

The hashtag challenge will take place this weekend: from June 22-June 23 from 12AM-12AM CET. Please note that the challenge is limited to the English language. So when you make your recommendation, make sure to do it in English.
