Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and a Joyous New Year to All FindMySoft Readers
Article by George Norman

The winter holidays are upon us and 2016 will shortly come to an end – and thank the Flying Spaghetti Monster for that, because 2016 has been one exceptionally crappy year. We lost Prince, David Bowie and Alan Rickman. No Man’s Sky, Mighty No.9 and Pokémon Go turned out to be huge disappointments. The US Elections were a big joke and... need I go on? I’m sure I don’t!

So as I was saying, the holidays are upon us and the year quickly draws to a close. Before we close shop and go on a much needed break, I want to wish all of you Happy Holidays, Season's Greetings, Merry Christmas, and a Joyous New Year!

Just like last year and the year before, here is FindMySoft’s Year In Review for 2016, which presents the top 10 articles that got the most views throughout the year.

10. 3 Dumb Reasons Why I Love Google's New Weather Card

Google introduced a new, interactive weather card this year. It presents lots of useful information about the weather, including a 10-day forecast, and it features a cheerful frog that always puts a smile on my face.

9. How to Make Money from Playing Games and other Hobbies (Infographic)

Mid-June, Pound Place published an infographic that presents several fun hobbies that could be monetized. That’s right, there is some cash to be made from hobbies, including playing video games.

8. 10 Video Game Anniversaries that Will Make You Feel Old

Pokémon Go got a lot of attention this summer. While the mobile game is a newcomer to the market, the franchise is quite old – 20 years old as a matter of fact. 7. Avast Wi-Fi Finder Is for Android Users Who Need a Fast, Free and Secure Internet Connection

Avast’s Wi-Fi Finder for Android (and iOS) is a free app that will help you find and connect to WiFi hotspots. Not just any hotspots, mind you. You’ll get to connect to fast, reliable and secure WiFi hotspots. Go get Avast Wi-Fi Finder from Google Play and Apple’s App Store.

6. The 5 Reasons Why You Should Use Kaspersky's New Ad-Blocking iPhone App

Back in March, renowned security company Kaspersky Lab rolled out Kaspersky AdCleaner, a free and powerful ad-blocking iOS app that offers a more enjoyable browsing experience on Safari. Go get Kaspersky AdCleaner for iOS for free from Apple’s App Store.

Want more ad-blocking goodies? Here are 10 free tools that can block ads. Or better make that 9 free tools, because Ad Muncher isn’t getting updates anymore. No wait, I have something that can take Ad Muncher’s place on the list: uBlock Origin for Chrome and Firefox, one of the 12 best Firefox add-ons of 2016.

5. While Google Knows Everything About You, How Much Do You Know About It? (Infographic)

Google knows what your interests are, where you’re from, what your voice sounds like, and a whole lot more. Which brings up the question: how much do you know about Google? Mid-June I managed to stumble on an infographic that presents 55 interesting facts about Google.

This September, Google celebrated its 18th birthday. I used it as an occasion to come up with a list of 18 amazing stats & figures about Google. When you’re done with that, you might want to see which Google apps have more than a billion users.

4. 12 years, 12 Memorable Facts about Facebook

Can you believe that Facebook is 12 years old? It was launched on February 4, 2004. Even though Facebook is bad for your happiness, the social network has grown and grown, becoming the biggest and most popular social network in the world

2. There's a New VPN Tool You Should Know About: Avira Phantom VPN

Back in March, security company Avira released Phantom VPN, a VPN application that offers 500MB of traffic per month no questions asked, and 1GB of traffic per month if you register. 1. Top 3 Benefits of Using 360 Total Security's New TurboVPN

Quihoo 360 (the company behind the 360 Total Security system protection, speedup and cleaning tool) rolled out a VPN application back in July: 360 TurboVPN. It protects your online privacy by encrypting your internet connection and it helps you access websites and online content that isn’t available in your region by hiding your real IP address.

Back in July, 360 TurboVPN was a Beta. This is no longer the case. The VPN application graduated from Beta in September and is currently available for Windows, iOS and Android. Get 360 TurboVPN and enjoy 500MB of data per month, for free.
