Mountain View-based search engine giant Google has recently announced that it updated its Gmail client, fixing several little things that users were complaining about. Sara Goetz, Consumer Experience Specialist, explained that these little fixes are meant to offer a more enjoyable experience to all the Gmail users out there.

"Ever since I joined the Gmail team, my friends have been eager to tell me, 'I love Gmail! Except for this one thing... ' And every day, Gmail users share their 'one thing' that would make Gmail better for them through our suggestions page. While we enjoy creating new solutions to old problems with features like Priority Inbox, those little annoyances and missing pieces are important, too," explained Sara Goetz.

Here are the little things that Google fixed in Gmail:
- Set it up so that Gmail no longer automatically saves every email address you send a message to. Users who found Gmail automatically saving email addresses annoying can now turn off the auto-save option from the General Tab.
- Gmail points out typos in email addresses, like the fact that you forgot the . in bob@gmail.com.
- When you reply to a message in the Trash, you will see an error message that lets you move the conversation out of the Trash; in the past it was a pop-up error message.
- After creating a filter from the "Filter messages like this" option that shows up on some messages, Gmail will take you back to the message you were reading.
- Press Shift + ? (that’s Shift followed by question mark) and you will be presented with a list of Gmail keyboard shortcuts. The list also features a link to enable keyboard shortcuts in Gmail.
- Refresh is a button not a link in the menu bar.

Google announced that based on user feedback, it updated Picasa Web Albums as well. Software Engineer Tammy McLeod explained that the following top feature requests have been implemented:
- The option to sort albums by title has been added.
- A new “Edit visibility” link has been added, making it easier to update an album’s visibility.
- The option to transfer your photos, videos, comments, and people you follow to a new Google account has been added.
