On Halloween, Google presented the most popular costume searches of the year via Frightgeist. On Thanksgiving, Google presents the most popular Thanksgiving-related Google searches via Google Trends.

Take a look below to see the top trending Thanksgiving recipes, the most searched Thanksgiving pies, the top 5 regions that are searching for "Friendsgiving," and more.

Top 5 Thanksgiving recipes in the US
  1. Turkey dressing
  2. Green bean casserole
  3. Mashed potatoes
  4. Prime rib
  5. Corn casserole
Back in 2015, cranberry relish was the number 1 trending recipe. Peach cobbler came in at number 2 on the list, followed by mashed potatoes at number 3, lasagna at number 4, and beef stew at number 5.

Let me spare you a Google search: Friendsgiving is a second Thanksgiving, just that you spend it with friends, not family. Thanksgiving is on the 4th Thursday of November and it’s meant to be spent with your family. Friendsgiving is a new tradition that you celebrate on the day before or after Thanksgiving, with your friends.

Interest in Friendsgiving started to pick up in 2012.



And it’s been on the increase ever since, as highlighted by the above graph.
