Google Toolbar 6 Beta for Internet Explore Available for Download
Google and the development team behind their toolbar have been hard at work on trying to further develop this software application and increase the user’s web experience. The toolbar, which initially was meant to aid you in searching for various items online, has evolved and encompassed a greater number of features: search suggestions, custom buttons, Autofill, Google Bookmarks and even gadgets. With Google’s latest release, Google Toolbar 6 Beta for Internet Explorer, the focus has once again turned towards the “core idea” – that’s the search option and online navigating.
Lead Engineer with the Google Toolbar Team, Zelidrag Hornung comments: “First of all, in today's Toolbar 6 launch for Internet Explorer we're introducing the Quick Search Box (QSB) feature that provides search functionality outside of the browser. Just click on the Google logo in the taskbar to trigger it (or use the Ctrl + Space shortcut for quicker access). As you type, it will provide search and website suggestions, relevant bookmarks, and even allow you to launch applications directly from the search box. Try typing "solitaire" to see the application launcher in action. And here's the best part: as you use the QSB, it'll customize itself to your usage pattern, so over time you have to type fewer characters to navigate to your favorite sites and applications.”
The Google Toolbar Team has also worked on improving the suggest functionality, mainly on mixing the toolbar with elements from the Google search page. For the queries that you type in, Google will give you a list of suggestions: high quality ones they say, as well as sponsored links.
One other improvement you will notice is the tab page view, feature that is already available in Google Toolbar 5 Beta for Firefox. The new tab page allows you to seamlessly access the pages you visit frequently, web pages you bookmarked and site you recently closed.
If you would like to get Google Toolbar 6 Beta for Internet Explorer, a download location is available here.
Please note that the link provided above only takes you to Google Toolbar 6 is you are using Internet Explorer; otherwise it takes you to Google Toolbar 5.
