Want to pair your Android Wear smartwatch with your iPhone? Now you can! You see, Google just announced that it rolled out Android Wear for iOS.

If you have an iPhone 5, 5c, 5s, 6, or 6 Plus running iOS 8.2 or newer, you’ll be able to pair your smartphone with your smartwatch.

Android Wear app for IOS – Main Features
  • Always-on display – you won’t have to move your wrist to wake up your watch.
  • Useful info at a glance – take a look at your smartwatch to view useful information such as phone calls, messages, and notifications from your favorite apps.
  • Stay in shape – if you care about fitness, you’ll be glad to know that you can set fitness goals, track your walking and running, measure your heart rate, and get daily and weekly views of your progress.
  • OK Google – say “OK Google” and ask your smartwatch anything you want. Ask it about the weather for example, or ask it to create a to-do.
  • Google Now – Google Now will bring up useful cards at just the right time. It will, for example, display information about the traffic when it’s time to go home.

Go get the Android Wear app from the App Store and use it to connect your iPhone to your Android Wear watch.

Please note that at this time, Android Wear for iOS works with the LG Watch Urbane. “All future Android Wear watches, including those from Huawei, Asus, and Motorola will also support iOS, so stay tuned for more,” said David Singleton, Director of Engineering, Android Wear.

LG introduced the LG Watch Urbane Luxe, a premium limited edition smartwatch developed in collaboration with REEDS Jewelers. The smartwatch is covered in 23-karat gold and features a gorgeous alligator leather strap. 500 LG Watch Urbane Luxe smartwatches will be released and will retail for about $1,200.

“Wearable devices shouldn’t be thought of as an extension of one’s smartphone but an extension of oneself,” said Chris Yie, vice president and head of marketing communications for LG Mobile Communications Company. “This blending of craftsmanship and technology is a natural evolution of the smartwatch, which is becoming more of a lifestyle accessory than a piece of hardware. We think this is a good direction for wearables and we want to encourage this transformation.”
