Google Rolls Out Android 4.3, a Sweeter Jelly Bean

Google announced the release of an even sweeter version of Jelly Bean: Android 4.3, an upgrade that comes with a very nice list of new features. Restricted profiles, an enhanced Daydream, and the option to stream movies to an HDTV are just some of these new features.

On Wednesday, July 24, Google announced that it is released an upgrade to its Jelly Bean mobile operating system: Android 4.3. This upgrade comes with restricted profiles, Bluetooth Smart support, the latest 3D graphics, and a host of other interesting features. The OS is currently being rolled out to Nexus phone and tablets; it will be available on the new Nexus 7 and Google Play edition devices soon.

Android Jelly Bean 4.3 – What’s New
  • Restricted profiles – you can set up profiles for multiple users and put limitations in place for certain profiles. You can block access to certain content and restrict app usage. Parents can set up restrictions for their children, and employers can set up restrictions for their employees.
  • Bluetooth Smart Support – also known as Bluetooth Low-Energy, it minimizes the amount of power used on Bluetooth connectivity.
  • The Latest 3D Graphics – by adding support for OpenGL ES 3.0, the latest industry standard for accelerated 3D graphics, Android 4.3 lets you enjoy stunning 3D graphics on your device.
  • Dial Pad AutoComplete – the dial pad features a new autocomplete feature that will display suggestions as you dial a number.
  • Enhanced Security – every app runs in its own sandbox and when you download an app it is automatically scanned for threats.
  • Enhanced Daydream, disabled apps tab, virtual surround sound, additional language support, faster user switching, simple setup wizard, wireless display for Nexus 7 and 10, and more.
