Google Now is no longer exclusive to Android users. As of this week, it is also available to iPhone and iPad users, as part of the updated Google Search app.

I have Google Now on my Android-powered Samsung Galaxy S4 and I find it to be quite useful. When I get up in the morning, it shows me useful weather information. When I set off to go to work, it gives me information about the traffic. If I purchased a ticket for an event, it notifies me about it. When I am wondering about, it tells me about nearby attractions I should visit. This and other useful information is provided by Google Now at the right time, making my life a lot easier.

Until recently, Google Now’s great functionality was available to Android users alone. This has changed. This week Google updated its Google Search iOS app, giving iPhone and iPad users access to Google Now.

“Many of us can no longer imagine life without our smartphones. We use them for all sorts of things, like getting reminders of important calendar appointments (say, a first date), and driving directions to the Italian restaurant where your table for two awaits. Today, with the launch of Google Now on iPhone and iPad, your smartphone will become even smarter,” announced Google Engineer Andrea Huey. “Google Now for iPhone and iPad is available as part of the updated Google Search app. Together, Google Now and voice search will make your day run a little smoother.
