Google Feud Is an Interesting Game Based on Google Search

As soon as you start typing something into Google, the search engine throws Instant predictions your way. And before that, the search engine displays autocomplete suggestions as you type your query. Like this.

Somebody used Google’s autocomplete feature as inspiration for a game called Google Feud. The goal in this game is simple: try to guess how Google autocompletes queries. You are presented with a question and you have to provide 10 correct answers; the answers are taken directly from Google’s autocomplete.

First up, you have to select a category. There are 4 to choose from: Culture, People, Names, and Questions.

If you select Questions for example, you could be presented with a query such as “why are dogs...” It is up to you to guess the 10 ways Google would autocomplete this query. Guess correctly and you score points. Guess incorrectly and you lose a guess – mind you, you only have 3 guesses at your disposal.

The round ends when you run out of guesses or when you correctly guess all 10 ways Google would autocomplete the query. When you move on to the next round, you can once again pick a category. I remind you that you can select 1 of 4 categories: Culture, People, Names, and Questions.

Google’s autocomplete suggestions are based on what people search for. Some searches are fun, some are downright weird. As the About section on GoogleFeud.com says, “Beware, certain results may be offensive and/or incomprehensible.” Still, it’s interesting and sometimes challenging to guess what people are searching for on Google.

Can you predict the wonderings of the masses? Can you guess how Google autocompletes queries? Visit Google Feud’s website, play the game, and find out!
