Back in November 2009, Mountain View-based search engine giant Google rolled out the Google Dashboard. Thanks to the Google Dashboard, any user can easily view all the data associated with his or her Google account. Google released the Google Dashboard as part of its efforts to provide users with greater transparency and control over their own data.

“Designed to be simple and useful, the Dashboard summarizes data for each product that you use (when signed in to your account) and provides you direct links to control your personal settings. The Dashboard covers more than 20 products and services, including Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Web History, Orkut, YouTube, Picasa, Talk, Reader, Alerts, Latitude and many more. The scale and level of detail of the Dashboard is unprecedented, and we're delighted to be the first internet company to offer this — and we hope it will become the standard,” commented Marissa Mayer, VP of Search Products and User Experience, when Google Dashboard was rolled out this November.

Six months have passed and Google is celebrating the Dashboard’s six month anniversary – or its very fast half-birthday, as Product Manager Yariv Adan said. On this occasion Yariv Adan offered a few statistics on how the Google Dashboard is doing.

Here are these statistics Yariv Adan made public:
- The Google Dashboard gets more than 100,000 hits per day from unique visitors.
- 85% of the daily unique visits are made up of users that check out Google Dashboard for the first time.
- Several new Google products have been added to the Dashboard: Sites, Maps, Books, Webmaster Tools, Buzz, Goggles, Sidewiki and Analytics. Other Google products will be added in the future.

“We launched the Dashboard to provide you with greater transparency and control. We’re proud of its success so far and look forward to what’s next,” commented Yariv Adan.
