Available for Android and iOS-powered smartphones and tablets, Google Currents is just a must have app for anyone who wants easy access to online content from a myriad of online sources. In a beautiful interface, the Currents app displays content from free online magazines, blogs, and feeds.

You can choose to see trending stories from Google, or stories from your Library. The aforementioned Library can be populated with a variety of sources – sites from all over the web as well as feeds from your Google Reader account.

If you want a quick look at what’s going on in the world, check out the trending stories that the app delivers to your device. Select the trends you’re interesting in, and Google Currents will present you with stories based on those trends.

Want to stay on top of stories from certain online publications, blogs, or feeds? Then set up the application’s Library as you see fit. Add the online publications you want (and there are plenty of publishers to choose from, like Forbes, The Guardian, TechCrunch, PBS, Saveur, Popular Science, ABC, 500px, Fast Company, Scientific American, CBS, The Atlantic) and add the feeds you want from your Google Reader account.

The content that interests you is presented in a beautiful magazine-like interface that is optimized for highspeed reading on your Android or Apple phone or tablet.

You will not have to part with your hard earned money to enjoy the wonderful user experience Google Currents has to offer.

You can get the application for your Android-powered smartphone or tablet for free from the Google Play Store here.

And you can get it for your iOS-powered smartphone or tablet for free from the App Store here.
