Chances are that you have a Gmail account, an Outlook account, and perhaps even a Yahoo! Mail account. Until now, you could not use Gmail for Android to manage your mail from your Outlook or Yahoo! account. Well, now you can!

Google recently announced that it updated the Gmail app for Android. Among other things, the updated Gmail for Android lets you manage emails from Outlook.com, Yahoo! Mail, and all your other IMAP/POP email accounts.

I don’t have just one email account, I have three accounts: a work Gmail account, a personal Gmail account, and another personal Yahoo! Mail account. To keep track of my personal emails, I have to use the Gmail app to view my Gmail messages and the Yahoo! Mail app to view my Yahoo! messages.

The days of using two apps, the days of hopping from one account to another are over. Google updated the Gmail app and introduced the option to monitor emails from other accounts. This means that I can now use the Gmail app on my Android to stay on top of my Gmail and Yahoo! Mail messages.

Gmail for Android – What's New
  • All Inboxes – add your Outlook.com, Yahoo! Mail, or any other email account and use the new “All Inboxes” to stay on top of your emails without having to switch from one account to another.
  • Conversation View – messages from your Yahoo, Outlook.com and other IMAP/POP accounts are stacked together and displayed as a conversation.
  • Auto-complete – by enhancing the auto-complete feature, Google aims to help you quickly find what you need.
  • Google Drive – save attachments to Google Drive with a single tap on your Android’s screen.
  • UI Changes – more responsive animations, larger attachment previews.
Gmail for Android is available for free on Google Play.
You need to have the latest release to enjoy all the features presented above.
