The XnRetro application is free, it is available for multiple platforms, it comes with a very user friendly interface, and it lets you add cool vintage effects to your photos.

Should you decide to get XnRetro, the first thing you need to know is that you can use it on a variety of platforms. You can use it on your Windows (32 and 64-bit editions; the application does not have to be installed), Mac OS X, or Linux-powered desktop machine. Or, if you are constantly on the go, you can use XnRetro on your iOS or Android-powered smartphone.
  • Get XnRetro for your desktop machine here.
  • Get XnRetro for iOS from Apple’s App Store and XnRetro for Android from Google’s Play Store.
Experienced and even novice users will have no problems getting accustomed to the interface. The image you loaded is displayed in the upper left hand side. Next to it there’s a panel that lets you adjust the brightness, contrast, noise, and more. Down at the bottom there are tabs for accessing the Retro, Light, Vignette, and Frame functions. To add a frame for example, click the Frame tab, then select a frame from the list. It’s all quite straightforward – you won’t have any problems, I’m sure.

Here’s a quick look at what you can do with XnRetro:
  • Effects – you can add retro, light, and vignette effects to your images.
  • Save or Share – the image can saved locally or it can be shared via email, Flickr, Picasa, Facebook, and more.
  • Colors – you can play with the brightness, contrast, saturation, and more.
  • Rotate – the image can be rotate clockwise or counter clockwise.
As mentioned above, XnRetro is a free application. Do consider making a donation to support the application’s development. That is, if you enjoy using XnRetro, of course.

To sum it up, XnRetro is a very nice application you can use on a variety of platforms to edit your images and give them a vintage look. Once you’re done you can save the image locally or you can choose one of several options to share that image.
