Reading a review is great and all, but playing a game for yourself is even better. And if you can get the game for free, then that’s the best.

That is the case with Dishonored 2, the sequel to 2012’s Dishonored action-adventure stealth video game. Bethesda recently announced that it’s offering a Dishonored 2 trial and giving PC, Xbox and PlayStation gamers the chance experience the game’s first three missions for free.

About Dishonored 2

Released in November 2016, Dishonored 2 is an action-adventure stealth video game that takes place in the fictional Empire of the Isles, with the majority of the action being set in the coastal city of Karnaca. The game is a sequel to 2012’s Dishonored, and I bring this up because in the original game you could only play as supernatural assassin Corvo Attano – in the sequel you can also play as Corvo’s daughter, Emily Kaldwin, who was 10 in the original game.

Dishonored 2 takes place 15 years after the first Dishonored game, which means that Emily Kaldwin is now 25. Furthermore, she is now the ruler of the fictional Empire of the Isles. But she is dethroned and the Empire plunges into chaos. Choose if you want to play as Emily Kaldwin or Corvo Attano, use their unique supernatural powers, and save the Empire.

"When the mad witch Delilah seizes the throne, the fate of your Empire is left hanging in the balance," Bethesda explained. "As Emily or Corvo, travel beyond the legendary streets of Dunwall to Karnaca, the once-dazzling coastal city that holds the keys to restoring Emily to power. Armed with powerful supernatural abilities, weapons and gadgets, how far will you go to hunt down your enemies and take back what’s yours?"

Dishonored 2 – Quick Facts
  • Game type – stealth action-adventure video game.

Since launch, Dishonored 2 received more than 100 Game of the Year awards and it’s even won Best Action/Adventure Game at The Game Awards 2016. Dishonored 2 has received so much praise that we can easily say that it is one of the best games of 2016.

With Dishonored 2 getting so much love from the critics and the gaming community, I can certainly understand why you would want to play the game. But until now, the only way you could do that was to purchase it (or pirate it). But starting tomorrow, you can give Dishonored 2 a try without having to spend any money.
