Great news for those who have a Series 40 feature phone from Nokia and are at the same time fans of popular social networking and micro-blogging service Twitter. The news is that on Thursday, July 12th, Twitter for Nokia Series 40 feature phones has been rolled out to the Nokia Store. All the millions of people who have a Nokia Series 40 feature phone can now enjoy Twitter on their devices.

Twitter for Nokia Series 40 devices is available for download in the Nokia Store here.

Product Manager on Twitter’s Mobile Team, Brian Frank, talks about the recently released Twitter for Nokia:
“If you have a Nokia S40 device, you can sign up for Twitter directly from your phone, read Tweets from all of the accounts you follow, connect with others, and more. Download Twitter for Nokia now in the Nokia Store to discover one of the richest experiences available on your device.”

In related news, Twitter recently updated its iOS and Android apps; the iPhone app was updated to version 4.3 while the Android app to version 3.3. The updated apps have the following to offer:
  • Expanded tweets – tweets can be expanded with the iOS and Android apps, just like they can be expanded on twitter.com. This means you can read article summaries, view images, and play videos when you tap a tweet that links to The Atlantic, Etsy, or Vimeo for example.
  • Experience events – the iOS Twitter app complements live events by helping you discover Tweets and photos from said events.
  • Enhanced search – you will be presented with more suggestions when you search for people and that’s because major improvements in search autocomplete have been made.
  • Push notifications – the updated apps come with support for push notifications for tweets. When a person you follow tweets or retweets something, you get a push notification on your iOS and Android app.

Twitter for iOS is available for download in the App Store here.
Twitter for Android is available for download in the Play Store here.
