This is a great week for all the people out there who have an Android-powered device and were waiting for the award-winning physics-game World of Goo to be ported to their devices. On Monday, just as 2D Boy promised, World of Goo for Android-powered smartphones and Android-powered tablets was released to the Android Market. The full version is available for purchase here and the demo version is available for download here.

When 2D Boy, company founded by former EA Arts developers Kyle Gabler and Ron Carmel, releases new versions of the World of Goo game, they are usually offered at a discounted price. The same happened with the release of World of Goo for Android. The full version, which is regularly priced at $4.99, is available for purchase for the discounted price of $2.99 – that’s a 40% discount. You have until the 5th of December to get World of Goo for Android for the discounted price of $2.99.

Speaking of getting the World of Goo game, 2D Boy explained that it should run smoothly on all smartphones and on all tablets powered by Android 2.2 or newer. The problem is that there are many, many devices out there powered by Google’s Android mobile operating system. This means that there may be some compatibility issues with some devices. 2D Boy advises you to try the demo version first to see if World of Goo runs smoothly on your device. If it does and there are no problems, you can then purchase the full version.

Again, the full version is available for purchase for the low price of $2.99 and will remain available for purchase for this low price until Monday, the 5th of December. If you want to get the app after that, you will have to part with $4.99 instead of $2.99.

Things are pretty clear-cut as far as I see them: if you want to get an award-winning, quite entertaining game for your Android-powered device, get World of Goo now while it’s on sale.
