Gears of War 4, one of the year’s most hotly anticipated games, has reached an important milestone in its development: it’s gone gold, meaning that it has been released to manufacturing. The gold master disc has been sent to replication facilities around the world, in preparation for the game’s release.

Speaking about that, Microsoft rolled out an exciting new launch trailer to get us all hyped about the release of Gears of War 4. The trailer features never-before-seen footage, high-intensity action, a grizzled Marcus Fenix, a new female protagonist named Kait, even mech suits and motorcycles. Check it out below.

"A new saga begins for one of the most acclaimed video game franchises in history. After narrowly escaping an attack on their village, JD Fenix and his friends, Kait and Del, must rescue the ones they love and discover the source of a monstrous new enemy," says the video’s and the game’s official description.

Microsoft recommends a 10-series GeForce GTX

Microsoft recommends a 10-Series GeForce GTX graphics card for playing Gears of War 4, like the the GeForce GTX 1060. But if you want to play the game with everything set to max, you should get the GeForce GTX 1080 instead. The gameplay experience will look like this.

Now, if you don’t have a 10-series GeForce GTX graphics card and you’re thinking about buying one, I have some good news for you. Buy a GeForce GTX 1070 or GTX 1080 and NVIDIA will give you Gears of War 4 for free. The offer also applies to select GeForce GTX 10-series laptops. Head over to the Gears of War 4 Bundle page for more details.

Speaking about bundles, I have to remind you about Microsoft's Gears of War 4 Limited Edition 2TB Bundle. The bundle includes:

The bundle is available for pre-order for $449.

Play Gears of War 4 starting October 11 (or earlier)

The game’s official release date is October 11, 2016. But mind you, this date only applies to the $59.99 Standard Edition. If you’re willing to spend a little more and get the $99.99 Ultimate Edition, you can play Gears of War 4 on October 7, four days before the game’s standard release date.

It doesn’t matter if you get Gears of War 4 from the Xbox Store or the Microsoft Store. This game is an Xbox Play Anywhere title, meaning that you can play it on an Xbox One console or a Windows 10 PC. Furthermore, Gears of War 4 supports Cross Play across Xbox One and Windows 10 in all of the game’s modes, including Versus, campaign and the all-new Horde 3.0 survival mode.

Alongside Gears of Wars 4, the first wave of Xbox Play Anywhere games includes Forza Horizon 3, which is scheduled to be released a few days from now. On September 23 for those who pre-ordered the $99.99 Ultimate Edition, and September 27 for those who got the $59.99 Standard or the $69.99 Deluxe Edition.

If you want to play Forza Horizon 3 ahead of its release date, the good news is that Microsoft rolled out a Demo version. The bad news is that the demo is currently available for Xbox One only.

Why did I bring up Forza Horizon 3? Just like Gears of War 4, the game just got an official launch trailer. Here it is.
