Galaxy S2 Ad Pokes Fun at Apple Fanboys

Early adopters and Apple fanboys are always quite eager to get their hands on whatever piece of tech the Cupertino-based company rolls out to the public. Proof of this came when the iPhone 4S was released to the public. A lot of people queued in the streets and waited for the Apple Stores to sell them their devices.

Apparently that’s something that deserves to be made fun of. Below you can watch an ad for the Android-powered Samsung Galaxy S2, ad that pokes fun at the Apple fanboys who spend hours in line waiting to get their hands on an iPhone 4S.

The ad displays several Apple fans waiting in line in front of an App Store. While they wait they point out that the blogs say the iPhone 4S doesn’t have good battery life and they even point out that since there are no visual differences between the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4, how will anyone know you have an iPhone 4S? Then they are distracted by someone who has a Samsung Galaxy S2. The fans waiting in line are amazed by the device’s large screen and 4G speed. The ad ends with a Galaxy S2 owner saying “this phone is amazing” and with the tagline “The next big thing is already here” on the screen.

I have to say that I find this app to be quite funny. I laughed at the “Get a Mac” ads when Apple made fun of Microsoft and I laughed here when Samsung made fun of Apple. The one thing I did not like is that there’s no mention of Google’s Android operating system. Sure, people want to get a Galaxy S2 because it has amazing specs – but they also want to get it because it runs on Google’s Android mobile operating system.

As a little side note, the Galaxy S2 isn’t even the biggest Android-powered smartphone has to offer. The Galaxy Note is even bigger than the S2.
