The Swedish tech gurus behind the Fuffr project aim to change the way we interact with our smartphones. You see, the Fuffr phone case adds touch to areas beyond the display. And more to the point, Fuffr turns any surface into a touch surface. Place your phone on your desk for example and the desk surface becomes a trackpad for your phone.

There are lots of phone cases out there. Some protect your smartphone from dirt and water, some protect your smartphone from shocks and drops, and some just look really cool. Do you know of a smartphone case that can turn any surface into a trackpad for your phone? Do you know of a smartphone case that lets you use any surface as if it were a touch surface.

That is the premise behind the Fuffr project. Place the Fuffr case on your phone, place the phone on a flat surface, then use said surface to control whatever is displayed on the phone's screen. Instead of touching your phone’s screen, you can use the flat surface to move objects around.

Fuffr provides support for a variety of gestures. Here’s a video that shows some of the gestures you can use on a flat surface with the Fuffr app.

Fuffr can be used to play games. Without having to touch the screen, you can better concentrate on the game.

The Fuffr team invites developers to create cool and interesting apps for Fuffr.
