Some of us take a long time to customize, personalize and generally modify every little application and process that goes on in our Windows-based operating system. The one thing that gets overlooked is the background, the wallpaper that we glance upon every time we use a computer. Wallpaper changer 1.9 and Caledos 6.5.4 aim to put a stop to the monotony and will provide you with a fresh wallpaper every time you boot up your machine, or any other preset amount of time as a matter of fact.

The thing is that Wallpaper Changer 1.9 does not display random images taken off the internet, or from the developer’s preset database, because that would be annoying. You, the user, get to set up a “wallpaper database” and the software will randomly pick a wallpaper to display. You are also given the option to set the frequency of these wallpaper changes – once in a while, or once every system startup.

What are the features that work in favor of Wallpaper Changer? It weighs in at about 400KB, it is freeware, it will work on any Windows-based operating system, it supports .JPEG, .GIF and .BMP file formats, and the requirements for running it are so low that you should not have a problem with it.

The other piece of software that was mentioned in the title is Caledos Automatic Wallpaper Changer which has recently reached version 6.5.4. This 1.3MB piece of software from CaledosLAB does pretty much the same thing as Wallpaper Changer 1.9 – it lets you choose what wallpapers will be displayed and at what interval of time, it works on any machine running on Windows OS, and is freeware.

As you would expect, the software products even though they were beautifully designed to do properly address a specific task, do have some down points. With Wallpaper Changer 1.9 it is the fact that you cannot edit the wallpapers in any way; not even simple tasks such as cropping or color adjust are supported, meaning that you will have to use some other software program to do your editing work. With Caledos 6.5.4 the downside is that this particular software program is not exactly freeware, it is cardware, meaning that the author/developer would appreciate you sending him a postcard.
