The now Microsoft-owned company Skype is once again offering free Skype WiFi access to celebrate Internet Week Europe, event that is now in its second year. And once again, the offer is available only to those who live or are currently in the UK.

Skype announced earlier this week that it is giving everyone in the UK up to an hour of free access to public wireless hotspots with Skype WiFi in honor of Internet Week Europe 2011, event held in London and dedicated to celebrating Europe’s internet culture and community. The free WiFi offer is available though November 11th, 23:59 GMT.

“Skype WiFi is the convenient, one-click way to get online at wireless hotspots and pay by the minute using Skype Credit. All you need to use Skype WiFi is the latest version of Skype and a compatible wireless hotspot,” explained Andy Crisp, who works in behalf of Skype at Grayling PR Agency in the UK. If you have any questions on how to get online for free with Skype WiFi during Internet Week Europe, you will find answers to those questions here.

Internet Week, event that began back in 2008, came to Europe last year, in 2010. Internet Week Europe 2010 was the first such event and it was a huge success. Over the course of five days a grand total of 130 event s took place. When I say “events” I mean everything from executive breakfasts to conferences and parties.

To honor the first Internet Week Europe event, Skype offered free WiFi access. This year, to celebrate the second Internet Week Europe event, Skype is once again offering free WiFi access. Up to 60 minutes of free access to public wireless hotspots with Skype WiFi is offered to users in the UK.
