Until now, iPhone and iPad users who wanted to try the Angry Birds Space game had no choice but to purchase it. As of this month though, things have changed. Rovio recently announced that a free version of Angry Birds Space for iOS has been rolled out to Apple’s App Store.

Get the free version of Angry Birds Space for the iPhone or Angry Birds for the iPad (click here for the iPhone version and here for the iPad version) and you will be ale to play the game’s first 10 levels for free. If you like the game, if after playing the first 10 levels you’re hooked, feel free to purchase Angry Birds Space.

Finish app developer Rovio Entertainment released Angry Birds Space to the App Store back in March and the game has proven to be a huge success – as a matter of fact it broke all of Rovio’s records as far as popularity is concerned. Here are some figures to put things in perspective:
  • The game was downloaded more than 50 million times in just 35 days after it was rolled out to the public.
  • Earlier this month, on June 8th, Rovio announced that Angry Birds Space was downloaded more than 100 million times.
Please note that the numbers above include all Angry Birds Space versions. The game is available for iOS, Android, Mac, as well as PC. Now that a free iOS version of the game has been released, we can only expect the number of downloads to increase.

You should also note that the free Angry Birds Space for iOS version is ad-supported. You will be presented with ads while playing the 10 free levels the app has to offer. And speaking about 10 levels, the Angry Birds Space update called Utopia added 10 tasty new levels to the game. Released in late May, the update introduces the donut-shaped food planet of Utopia.
