Firefox for Android version 25, which is currently being rolled out, comes with a useful Guest Browsing mode. As expected, this new feature comes in handy when you have to hand your phone and browser to a friend.

You can get Firefox for Android version 25 for free from Google’s Play Store.
You can check out this version’s release notes here.

Mozilla is currently in the process of rolling out Firefox 25 to the masses – this includes Firefox 25 for desktop and Firefox 25 for Android-powered mobile devices. On the desktop front, this latest version comes with an enhanced find function and a couple of interesting changes. To find out more on this topic, just follow this link.

On the mobile front, Firefox for Android comes with three new features. The main new feature on the list is called Guest Browsing mode. Use it when one of your friends is in dire need of browsing the web but doesn’t have a device to do so. Thanks to Guest Browsing you can rest assured that your history, open tabs, and bookmarks will not be affected.

“Guest Browsing is designed to quickly and easily lock your personal data and provide your guest with a fresh new browsing experience. Once you enable Guest Browsing Firefox restarts with a fresh profile and deletes that guest’s information when the guest session is closed. This means you can let friends and family borrow your phone or tablet to surf the Web and make sure your own information is safe and secure,” explained Mozilla.

As I mentioned above, Firefox for Android comes with three new features. On top of Guest Browsing, Firefox for Android also comes with these other new features:
  • Add-ons can now add indicators to the URL Bar.
  • Mixed content blocking enabled to protects users from man-in-the-middle attacks and eavesdroppers on HTTPS pages.
I am going to add that Firefox for Android version 25 added locales for Irish, Ukrainian, and Romanian.
