Firefox Add-on to Convert YouTube Videos, Remove Megaupload Time Limitation
The month of March marked two important events for Firefox users all over the world as the Mozilla Foundation released the more stable and safer Firefox 3.0.7 update and finally made Firefox 3.1 Beta 3 available for download (or Firefox 3.5 if you want to adopt the branding changes ahead of time). We have more good news for all you Firefox fans out there, news that come in the form of two add-ons: YouTube 2 MP3 and MU Bundle.
YouTube 2 MP3, as the name suggests, will convert any video that you can watch on the popular video sharing site into MP3 format. The whole process is seamlessly carried out since this Firefox add-on places a “Convert & Download as MP3” link in the browser window. The add-on is based on a free online service that will convert any YouTube link into an MP3 music file (visit the service’s site here).
Although the converting service comes free of charge and works beautifully, the YouTube 2 MP3 Firefox add-on comes with one little snag. It is an experimental add-on, meaning that an editor did not have the time to go over it and assess its functionality. You will consequently have to login to download it directly from Mozilla – this is not a requirement if you get it directly from the developer.
MU Bundle is a Firefox add-on that allows you to bypass the annoying time limit imposed by Mega Upload to non-premium accounts. You will still have to enter the CAPTCHA code as usual, but you will not have to wait between 25 and 45 seconds until you can click the download button. The add-on also has an auto-click feature that will automatically initiate the download. MU Bundle, just like YouTube 2 MP3, is an experimental add-on.
If your video converting and file downloading needs still haven’t been met, then I suggest you go over this article showcasing a free piece of software that allows you to download content from MegaVideo for free – details here.
If you would like to get YouTube 2 MP3, a Mozilla download location is available here. A developer download location available here.
If you would like to get MU Bundle, a download location is available here.
