People keeping track of these things will remember that Yahoo! rolled out a Beta version of Yahoo! Messenger back in November 2011 – that’s more than six months ago. The news is that you can now forget about the Beta version and switch to the final, stable version which has just been released.

If you’re already on Yahoo! Messenger 11 Beta, you can just click Help -> Check for Updates and you will be directed to the download page where you can get the latest version of Yahoo! Messenger. Alternatively you can just download Yahoo! Messenger 11 straight from Yahoo! here.

Before you go get Yahoo! Messenger 11 and put it to the test, perhaps you would like to know what new bits and pieces it has to offer. Here’s the lowdown:

Stay on top of all your social networks
The latest version of Yahoo! Messenger lets you view, comment on, and like updates from Yahoo! Pulse, Flickr, Facebook, Twitter, and more. You can also post your status to multiple social networks (Yahoo! Pulse, Facebook, and Twitter) and chat with friends from other networks (Windows Live, Facebook).

Play games with your social circle

With Yahoo! Messenger 11 you can play social games with your friends from within the instant messaging application. You can join a friend’s game by clicking his or her status and you can invite friends to join you by updating your status. You can play games from Elex (Happy Harvest & Happy Manor), OMGPOP (Balloono, Pool, Draw My Thing) and Zynga (Fishville and Mafia Wars).

Store conversations to the cloud
Previous versions of Yahoo! Messenger stored your message archive locally. Yahoo! Messenger stores conversations to the cloud, which means that you have access to your archive no matter on what PC you log in. You can also access your conversations in Yahoo! Mail.

You’re always connected

With Yahoo! Messenger 11 you can stay signed in to multiple PCs simultaneously, which means you will never miss a message. When you are out and about, you can stay in touch with your friends by using Yahoo! Messenger for iPhone or Yahoo! Messenger for Android. Or you can just use Yahoo! Mobile Web Messenger, an app that you do not need to install on your phone; you need only go to m.yahoo.com/messenger using your phone’s mobile browser.

New skins
Yahoo! Messenger 11 comes with 7 new skins you can use to customize the way the application looks.
