Finalists for the 20th Anniversary of Linux T-shirt Design Contest Announced
As you may already know, this is the year when we celebrate Linux’s 20th anniversary. In honor of this joyous occasion, the Linux Foundation, the nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating the growth of Linux, is running a video contest and a T-shirt design contest – among other things.
Putting the spotlight on the Linux T-Shirt Design Contest, the news is that the finalists for the aforementioned contest have been announced. The Linux Foundation went through more than 130 submitted designs and picked the 6 best ones. You can view the finalists the Linux Foundation picked by clicking here.
If you’re going to look at the finalists, you might as well vote for your favorite design. You can do so for a period of two weeks, from June 8th until June 22nd at midnight. You can cast your vote for your favorite design once a day during this two week period.
The design that gets the most votes will win the competition. Said design will be used as the official LinuxCon T-shirt and the official 20th Anniversary of Linux T-shirt. The one who came up with the winning design will get to attend LinuxCon and the LinuxCon Gala in Vancouver this August.
LinuxCon 2011 will take place between the 17th and 19th of August in Vancouver. Linus Torvalds will be there and so will several other top figures from the Linux world, like Linux Foundation Executive Director Jim Zemlin, Red Hat CEO Jim Whitehurst, and Ubuntu’s Technical Architect Allison Randal.
There will be keynotes, and roundtable panels, and numerous conference sessions. There will also be evening events, developer lounges, a technology showcase and much more. Anyone interested in the Linux ecosystem is well advised to attend LinuxCon. The best and brightest that the Linux community has to offer will be in Vancouver this August, and so should you.
