Faster Windows Usage: Launch Multiple Apps with One Click
People that spend all day in front of a computer, working or just wasting some time, will attest to the fact that each day they launch the same set of software applications. With me for example it’s my text editor, picture editor, browser and music player. An easier, not to mention faster, way of accessing these apps would be to gather them under one icon and open them by simply clicking it.
Two software applications can perform the task I mentioned above: Utility Launcher and Lacuna Launcher. Both of them come free-of-cost and both of them do not require you to install them onto your system. So what you basically have here are two pieces of software that you can get for free, can take with you on your USB memory stick, and will help you be more productive.
“Utility Launcher is a convenient launcher for clean-up and maintenance programs. You can place up to 20 utilities under a single (1) desktop icon, so they can be accessed and run quickly. This is the utility program that I use regularly to run my arsenal of third-party clean-up and maintenance programs,” the software’s developer.
“Lacuna Launcher will allow you to set a group of files to be opened with a single shortcut by creating a text file with the paths to all the files you wish to open. You can include applications (.exe), shortcuts (.lnk), internet shortcuts (.url), images, music, movies, anything that is a file on your system that you wish to open. Just open the included "list.txt" file in notepad and make a list with the paths to files you want to open. Place one per line. You can add as many as you like,” says April, the one who came up with Lacuna Launcher.
If you would like to get Utility Launcher, a download location is available here.
