Facebook Year in Review 2016 Presents Top 10 Most Popular Topics and Videos
As 2016 comes to an end, Facebook looks back at the topics and videos that captured everyone’s attention throughout the year. Facebook’s annual Year in Review presents the top 10 global topics people talked about on the social network throughout the year and, for the first time, it also presents the top 10 global Live videos that got the most attention in 2016.
"The top 10 moments of this year’s Year in Review were measured by how frequently a topic was mentioned in Facebook posts made between January 1 and November 27, 2016.," explained Sheida Neman, Data Analyst with Facebook. "To put this list together, mentions were analyzed in an aggregated, anonymized way and then ranked to create a snapshot of the year on Facebook. The top 10 Live videos were measured by total cumulative views."

Google’s Year in Search for 2016 isn’t out just yet, so we don’t know how the US elections ranked on Google’s annual list. Yahoo’s Year in Review for 2016 is out though, and on Yahoo’s Top 10 Searches of 2016 the US Presidential Elections rank at #1.
