This one is for Facebook users who have children, like to share photos of their children on the social network, and are looking for an efficient means of organizing pictures of their children.

Facebook introduced Scrapbook, a new feature that lets parents share and tag photos of their children. Or to put it in simpler words, Facebook introduced a new feature that lets parents create scrapbooks for their children.

There are more than a billion people on Facebook and, as my newsfeed can testify, lots of them are parents – parents who like to share lots and lots of photos their precious little one(s). Now, I am not a parent, and I don’t really like to share photos on Facebook. But according to Facebook Product Manager Dan Barak, it is a bit of a hassle for parents to share photos of their children and it is a big hassle to keep said photos organized.

To address this situation, Facebook introduced Scrapbook. It started rolling out this week in the US on Facebook for desktop, iPhone and Android.

Scrapbook – Main Features
  • Easily create a scrapbook for your child.
  • Opt to co-own the scrapbook with your spouse or partner.
  • Easily tag your child (only you and your spouse/partner can tag your child).
  • Choose what you call the tag (your child’s name, initials or something else).
Here’s what you have to do to get started with Scrapbook. Go to your Facebook profile, go to the About section, click Family and Relationships, click Get Started on the invitation to create a scrapbook, click Add Scrapbook next to your child’s name (you may have to add the child to your profile first).

If you don’t see an invitation to start a scrapbook, have patience. As I mentioned above, Scrapbook is currently rolling out in the US on Facebook for desktop, iPhone and Android.
