Facebook recently introduced Embedded Posts, a new feature that can be used to embed public Facebook posts on websites and blogs.

On Wednesday, July 31st, Facebook Software Engineers Dave Capra and Ray He introduced Embedded Posts to the world. The two explained that by allowing Facebook posts to be embedded in websites and blogs, Facebook offers a powerful means of bringing “the most compelling, timely public posts from Facebook to the rest of the web.”

“Today, we are beginning to roll out Embedded Posts to make it possible for people to bring the most compelling, timely public posts from Facebook to the rest of the web,” announced on Wednesday, Facebook Software Engineers Dave Capra & Ray He. “Embedded Posts let people add public posts from Facebook to their blog or web site. When embedded, posts can include pictures, videos, hashtags and other content. People can also like and share the post directly from the embed.”

Here is what you can expect to get from Embedded Posts:
  • Only public Facebook posts can be embedded into blogs or websites.
  • Embedding works just like you would expect it to work: click a button to get the embed code, copy the code, use the code on your website or blog.
  • Posts can include pictures, videos, hashtags, and other content.
  • Visitors to your website or blog can interact with the embedded posts (click the hashtag, like the post, share it, and so on).
  • At this time, a handful of publications can embed public Facebook posts. Broader availability is coming soon.

“Every day, public figures, journalists and millions of regular people share their thoughts on what's happening around the world on Facebook publicly,” said Dave Capra and Ray He. “To start, we're working with CNN, Huffington Post, Bleacher Report, PEOPLE and Mashable so those publications can embed public Facebook posts, with broader availability coming soon.”
