Facebook Has a New Instant Personalization Partner: Clicker

We know that Facebook, in an effort to help you take your Facebook friends with you when visiting various sites on the web, is working with Microsoft’s Bing search engine, the film review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the Office 2010-based service that lets you create, edit and share Office documents Docs.com, the personalized internet radio service Pandora, social network user review, and local search web site Yelp, and social reading and publishing site Scribd. All these sites are instant personalization Facebook partners, meaning Facebook will personalize your experience when you visit them.

When you visit film review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes for example, you will see your Facebook friends’ reviews prominently, as well as the movies they've recently liked or want to see, and recommendations based on the movies you've liked or reviewed from across the web.

When you visit Scribd you see personalized reading recommendations based on the things your Facebook friends are sharing, the things you liked on Facebook, and based on your personal interests. You can also easily share things you like by clicking the Like button.

Facebook has announced yesterday that it has a new instant personalization partner, mainly internet TV guide Clicker .

“We’re announcing a partnership with Clicker, an Internet television guide, to help you instantly discover new shows based on what you and your friends have liked on Facebook and other websites. Now you can spend less time channel surfing and more time socializing—no remotes, listings or passwords required,” announced Partner Engineer with Facebook, Matt Kelly.

If you are logged into your Facebook account and visit Clicker, you will see TV recommendations based on the shows you've added to your Facebook profile and the shows your friends like. You will see your friends' activity on clicker, see what your friends are watching and what they recommend, and see personalized recommendations based on your likes and interests.
