About this time last year I was inviting you to experience Flipboard on PCs and tablets powered by Microsoft’s Windows 8.1 operating system.

Today I am inviting you to enjoy Flipboard on smartphones powered by Microsoft’s Windows 8.1 operating system. That’s right, the social magazine app is now available for Windows Phone as well.

The first ones to get their hands on the Flipboard app were iOS users. The app was rolled out to the App Store way back in the winter of 2010. Android users were next. The final and stable version of Flipboard for Android landed on Google Play in the summer of 2012. Then in the autumn of 2013, the Flipboard app made it to the Windows Store, much to the delight of all the Windows 8.1 users out there.

The only ones that were left out were Windows Phone user – until now that is. This week, Microsoft and the Flipboard team announced that the Flipboard app is available on the Windows Phone Store for devices powered by Windows Phone 8.1. Mind you, high-end devices like the Lumia 830, Lumia 1520, Lumia Icon, and other devices with at least 1GB of RAM, like the Lumia 920 or HTC One M8.

“You can download it from the Windows Phone App Store today. The Microsoft and Flipboard teams will continue to work together in the months ahead to develop a roadmap for optimizing Flipboard for lower memory Windows Phones,” said the Flipboard Team.
