Easily Find Movie Subtitles with Sublight

Despite what the Hollywood movie makers would have you think, not everybody in the world is literate in the English language, and slowing down your rate of speech will not miraculously get people to understand English. So what do you do when you have an English movie and a non-English speaking audience? You start looking for subtitles, of course.

The problem with finding subtitles is that it is a time consuming process – and an annoying one at that, since all you want to do is watch that movie. Luckily enough there is a software program called Sublight that will do the searching for you; all you have to do is download the subtitle of your choice and enjoy the movie.

There are a couple of downsides, the first being the fact that Sublight only works on Windows-based operating systems. The second is that even though the user interface in Sublight is a very simple one, you are better off doing manual subtitle searches for TV shows (works great with movies though). The upside is that Sublight is freeware, so it will not cost you a thing to download and use it, and as of January 17th it will reach version 1.0 (Sublight 1.0 Final)

Here are the some of the features that you will get in Sublight:
- Automatic subtitle search.
- Before downloading subtitles you get to preview them. There are also subtitle ratings and comments, which should aid in your selection
- VLC, BS.Player, Media Player Classic, KMPlayer, Windows Media Player and GOM player support
- After registering (which is very simple to do) you will be able to publish new subtitles.
- The user interface is attractive and easy to use.
- Sublight will automatically update itself when an update becomes available.
- Language support for English, Slovenian and Serbian.
- The software searches for subtitles within these databases: OpenSubtitles.org, Podnapisi.NET and divx-titlovi.com.
- Free-of-cost, meaning that it if you do not like it, you can always uninstall it without losing anything.

If you would like to get Sublight, a download location is available here.
