ESET Mobile Security for Android version 2.0 has just been rolled out to Google’s Play Store. This new version, as its developer explained, is completely rebuilt and redesigned. It comes with a brand new interface that is landscape-friendly, enhanced antivirus scanning, SMS and call filter, and other new features. Let’s quickly go over all the new features.

ESET Mobile Security for Android Main New Features
  • Interface: the app comes with a brand new interface that is landscape-friendly and quickly responds to your commands.
  • Enhanced scanning: choose between a quick, a smart, or a deep scan; scans can be run in the background and they can be scheduled. It must be mentioned here that the app has a powerful antivirus engine that can detect known as well as unknown threats.
  • Enhanced protection – the app better protects against phishing and web-based attacks delivered via SMS messages, QR codes, or URL links.
  • SMS and Call Filter – you can now block incoming text messages and incoming calls.
  • Audit Installed Apps – the apps installed on your Android device will be audited; ESET Mobile Security will monitor app permissions such as location tracking and in-app purchases.
  • Anti-Theft and Startup Wizard – to help you quickly set things up.
  • Adjustable status bar notification icon.
  • Built-in USSD control.
“One of our goals with the new version of ESET Mobile Security for Android was to make protection even easier for users,” said Andrew Lee, CEO, ESET NA. “Our new user interface and setup wizards are designed for mobile users looking for simple and powerful security products that are easy to configure, run quietly in the backgroundand require limited resources.”
