Drunk Tweeting Gets Adele Banned from Posting Tweets Herself

It doesn’t matter if you’re a regular Joe or a super famous singer. Drinking and tweeting don’t go well together. In your drunken, inebriated state, you might say something foolish, embarrassing or downright offensive. And when you have an image to uphold, saying something offensive will quickly land you in a world of trouble.

That’s the case with British singer and songwriter, Adele. She is a huge star who can’t afford to ruin her image with a drunken tweet. And because she’s known to have done something like that in the past, her management team banned her from posting tweets herself. The tweets her 24 million followers see are not posted by the singer!

Because Adele drunk tweeted a few years ago and nearly landed herself in trouble, she’s not allowed to tweet without supervision. While she insists that she gets to write her own tweets, she says that she’s not allowed to post them on her own. All her tweets have to be approved first. Adele’s tweets go through two sets of people and they have to be signed off before they’re posted on the micro-blogging and social networking site.

“I'm not a drinker anymore, but when Twitter first came out I was drunk tweeting and nearly put my foot in it quite a few times. So my management decided that you have to go through two people and then it has to be signed off by someone,” said Adele in a BBC One special that has yet to be aired.

The special in question is called Adele At The BBC – a world-exclusive entertainment show hosted by Graham Norton that will air on BBC One on November 20th, 2105. It will be Adele’s first television performance since she performed Skyfall at the 85th Academy Awards in February 2013.

“This is the music event of the year and I'm thrilled to be part of bringing it to BBC One. This opportunity to spend an hour with Adele, her music and her stories is a truly rare treat. If I wasn't hosting this special I'd be sat at home watching it!” said Graham Norton.

During the show, Adele answers questions about various rumors, including the rumor that she’s not allowed to access her own Twitter account. The highlight of the show is Adele performing her new single Hello.

Hello, which has more than 295 million views at the time of writing this, is taken from Adele’s new album, 25. The album will go on sale on November 20th, 2015, the same date as the BBC One special. It is available for pre-order on iTunes and Amazon for 9.99.

25 is Adele’s third album. Her previous albums, entitled 19 and 21, sold more than 30 million globally.

Drinkify Pairs Music with a Nice Drink

Since we’re talking about drinking, music and musicians, I have to remind you about an interesting website called Drinkify. Tell Drinkify what you’re listening to and it will suggest a drink.

Imagine this scenario. After a hard day at the office, you want nothing more than to get home, put on some music, relax in your favorite chair and have a nice drink. The question is: what should you drink? Should you have some scotch, should you have a beer?

If you can’t make up your mind on your own, let Drinkify tell you what to drink. If you plan on listening to Adele, Drinkify will recommend The Adelle, a drink that’s made up of the following: 2 oz vodka, 2 oz coconut milk, and 1 oz honey. Combine the ingredients in a highball glass and garnish with cucumber.
